Our Editorial Process
At the Journal of Science and Technology Research, we prioritize publishing papers of high technical quality, allowing the scientific community to evaluate the impact of your work. Our editorial process is focused on ensuring the robustness and validity of research from methodological, analytical, statistical, and ethical perspectives, without imposing subjective judgments on manuscript content.

Stage 1: Initial Quality Check
After submission, we verify that your manuscript adheres to our editorial and publishing guidelines. This includes checks on authorship, competing interests, ethics approval, and plagiarism. We conduct these checks to ensure your manuscript provides all the necessary information for a fair and thorough assessment.
Stage 2: Editorial Board Member Evaluation
Once your manuscript passes the quality check, it is assigned to an Editorial Board Member with expertise in your field. If they find your work suitable, they will select two to three peer reviewers based on relevant expertise and absence of conflicts of interest. Authors may suggest potential reviewers or list up to three individuals or labs to exclude from review, and we will respect these requests. When additional reviewers are needed, we may collaborate with Research Square to identify appropriate reviewers, who receive an honorarium for timely review.
Stage 3: Peer Review
Reviewers assess the technical soundness and scientific validity of your methods, analysis, and interpretation, ensuring they are well-conducted, ethical, and supported by data. Their written reports are then shared with the Editorial Board Member overseeing your manuscript.
Stage 4: Decision
The Editorial Board Member decides whether to accept the manuscript, request minor or major revisions, or reject it if critical concerns cannot be resolved. We aim to provide an initial decision within 45 days of submission.
If Revisions Are Requested
If invited to revise, you’ll receive a link to submit the revised manuscript along with a point-by-point response to reviewers’ comments. Revisions may be re-evaluated by the original reviewers or new ones at the Editorial Board Member’s discretion. We encourage authors to address all comments in the first round of revisions.
When Your Manuscript is Ready for Publication
After final approval, your manuscript moves to the publication stage. You will receive a proof for review to ensure scientific accuracy, where only essential corrections are allowed. Final edits require approval from our publishing team.
If Your Manuscript is Rejected
Rejection may occur if the Editorial Board Member determines that substantial improvements would not make the paper suitable for publication. If you believe the decision involved a significant scientific misunderstanding or bias, you may submit a single appeal, which is reviewed only after peer review and may involve further evaluation if warranted.
Our editorial support team is here to assist you at every step, ensuring a smooth and transparent process for all authors.
